Why Students benefit

This activity helps students begin the metacognitive process of thinking about their thinking and learning!

It lays the foundation of what helps students succeed in the class. The beauty is that you, as the teacher, are not trying to tell them what is needed, they are shown what is needed by their fellow students and themselves!!

It shows that, as a class, many of the same things are needed to be successful and they have a responsibility to themselves and their peers to work toward that! It is a great starting point for building classroom culture.

Why you will LOVE it

You are not lecturing students on your expectations, you are allowing them to discover it for themselves! It is minimal prep and creates wonderful teaching moments.

It works well with this FREE Icebreaker activity
