First Chapter Friday Read Aloud Videos

Reading aloud to students is one of the most powerful tools teachers have at their disposal. But knowing what to read and having the time to do it make this simple task sometimes harder. I want to help. This product contains links to first chapter read aloud videos. Just select a book and click play. I'll take care of the rest... making sure to tell students why I loved the book, why it might be a good fit for them and also a few interesting facts about the book, author or story. And then, I'll read the first chapter aloud. This can work great for both in person class and distanced learning. Some videos even include interviews with the author!

After listening students will use this appetizer sized taste to decide if they'd like to read more of the book. They can then head to your classroom/school/public library to get their own copy and continue reading.

Right now, 4-5 titles (+live links) are listed for each month From January 2021 through March 2024, (160+ and counting!) and more will be coming. Future videos have a "live date" listed and will not be available until the noted Friday. Several titles included also have author interviews, mystery quotes, and education resources linked for extended learning.
