These short stories are HIGH INTEREST, realistic fiction, written with an identifiable THEME. I wrote them for the purpose of students to gain confidence with understanding and identifying the tricky concept of THEME.

Although the stories were written for teaching theme, they can also be used to review or introduce CHARACTER TRAITS/CONFLICT, STORY ELEMENTS, SUMMARY and much more. They work great at reading groups or for whole group shared reading instruction. The texts can be read again and again, each time reading for a different purpose.
