Description

Are you teaching a financial literacy unit and need to explain how to calculate wages and salary using an hourly rate? Understanding hourly rates and rates of pay can be a challenge, but your Consumer and Financial Maths, Life Skills and Transition students will love using these new editable financial literacy task cards to build their pay calculation skills as well as their employment readiness skills!

The 24 financial literacy task cards support hourly rates of pay and basic financial calculations to understand how hourly rate, hours worked and total income relate to each other.

This is Set 1 of the Financial Literacy Task Cards series.

Set 1 includes...

  • 24 editable and printable task cards with colour border
  • 24 editable and printable task cards with black and white border
  • Answer key
  • Audio included with each card
  • Easel digital assessment with 10 questions (images included)

Note: There are 24 unique cards, with 2 printing options for the set - colour or black and white.

The questions in the digital assessment are different from the task cards, allowing for easy formative assessment at the end of the unit, or as a pre-test to establish entry skills.

Here's how...

Print the financial literacy task cards for in class use. Share them with individuals, pairs or small groups. Allow time for solving the card, then swap and compare answers. Check work against the answer key.

Use the cards as a digital version in PPT to access the audio for each task card. This is a great option for remote learning and to provide audio support for learners as needed.

Use the digital Easel assessment as a pre-test or a formative assessment at the end of the topic.

Fundamental skills and knowledge...
