Activities Included

There are 4 different types of activities included within EACH pack.

• The sentences each contain one final blend/consonant team word presented in boxes to help students visually see the individual phonemes within the word.
  
• Picture support helps students to recognize the word they are decoding.

2. Sentence Strips for Encoding/Spelling Final Blend/Team Words

• The encoding/spelling sentences follow the exact same format as the decoding sentences to provide repetition & familiarity.
  
• Helps students to practice encoding/spelling once they are ready to transition to this skill.
  
• Perfect for remediation and early intervention, also.

3. Pyramid Sentences to Practice Fluency

• Same sentences are presented in a plain text, without much visual support, to assess skills and provide fluency practice.
  
• Two versions are provided = one with final blends highlighted in red and one without any highlighting to provide differentiation options.

4. Blank Sentence Strips For Your Own Word Lists

• 5 blank sentence strips are provided to allow customization for various word lists
  
• Use with your curriculum to customize these activities to fit the skills you are teaching and offer differentiation

Things To Note

Care has been taken to include words that follow a short vowel pattern. However, due to various pronunciations, some words (ex: 'yolk' and 'wolf') may vary slightly.

Also, to accommodate various curricula, words with vowel teams or initial consonant teams are generally not included (ex. 'point' and 'chant').

The exception is for the final -CH pack! 8 common words with vowel teams ("beach", "touch", etc) are included and denoted with a star icon.

The sentences contain some easy high-frequency words (the, you, has, have) along with other fully decodable words (can, get, mom).
