What educators are saying

I have been really happy with this resource. I am teaching a film class for the first time and have been using this unit and a few others to help me design it.
My class found this resource clear and engaging. I'll be able to use this in many of my other classes too!

    Description

    Editable Google Drive™ resource includes:

    • 16 editable Google Slides™ that introduce film theory and review film techniques and effects using hyperlinked, timestamped video examples with screenshots from the movie Charade (1963), which is in the public domain and fully available on Youtube. Hyperlinks start at correct timestamp for each example.
    • Google Docs™ worksheets that assess students' ability to identify and analyze film techniques from a shot of their choosing from ANY FILM. The worksheet is comprised of 14-short response questions. The worksheet can be applied to Charade (1963) as practice at the end of the Google Slides™ lesson and/or then applied again to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban or any other film of the teacher's choosing as a final assessment. The worksheet comes with an example answer key using the first shot from the "monster book" scene from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which can be found on Youtube.
    • Google Docs™ handout that includes the definitions and common effects of each type of the basic film techniques: sound, mise-en-scéne, camera angles, and framing.

This resource is great to post in Google Classroom™ for distance, remote, and digital learning.

As a note, TPT lists the file type for bundles of Google resources as "Google Apps™ (not downloadable)." This just means that it is not a zip file. You will still receive all of the files in your Google Drive™, and you can download them from there if you wish!
