What educators are saying
A fun and kid friendly one page resource for students to refer to when learning or reviewing figurative language.
Thank you so much for this resource! Students use this as their own personal anchor chart that they keep in their ELA folder. It really helped my ELL students because it contains a picture for them use as a reference. I copied it and had them keep it in their journals for reference.
Description
These two papers are size 8.5" x 11."
The following types of figurative language are on these papers:
- Idiom
- Simile
- Metaphor
- Personification
- Hyperbole
- Alliteration
- Onomatopoeia
I made this into a poster and display it in my classroom for my students to reference.
I also display the "sticky note" poster in my classroom, and my students post sticky notes on it when they find examples of figurative language in a text they are reading or when we find examples in our class novels. This is a great way to make Figurative Language interactive.
This can also be used as a handout for students.
