These activities are based on our comicbook history rap song and compare the real-world history of a comicbook with its fictional story in the comic world. Students will practice distinguishing between examples of fiction and nonfiction in the song lyrics as they learn about the comicbook's history.

- the song lyrics for use as a reading passage

- a link to the song with subtitles for students

- 12 multiple-choice, comprehension questions with the answer key

- 14 multiple-choice, nonfiction vs. fiction questions about the fictional comic story and the real-world story behind the comic with the answer key

- 7 multiple-choice, context clues questions for defining content vocabulary words in the song with the answer key.

How to use this resource:

- Students will preview the comprehension questions on pages 1 and 2 then listen to the song while following along with the lyrics on pages 3 and 4.

- Next, students will answer the comprehension questions on pages 1 and 2.

- Students will then complete the nonfiction vs. fiction and context clues activities on the remaining pages.

- The answer keys are located on pages 9 - 14.
