Description

Looking for a way to celebrate Father's Day without interrupting your ELA time? This reading and writing craft flip book has a nonfiction passage to work through while also creating a fun keepsake gift for their fathers.

This Father's Day activity includes a reading flip book. It focuses on learning all about Father's Day with a nonfiction reading passage and three follow up activities. This is perfect for learning about the holiday while having interactive fun, practicing comprehension, and Father's Day writing.

Father's Day Activities Included:

  • Let's Read page: nonfiction paragraph plus a writing paragraph about their own dad
  • Let's Answer page: Questions about passage
  • Let's Draw: Students draw a picture of their dad and then write about activities they do with him
  • Let's Write: Students answer six questions about their dads for Father's Day
  • Link to digital conversion in Google Slides

The passage gives facts and information about what Father's Day is, and then has pages for students to write about their own fathers to give their dad for Father's Day. There are also two options for book toppers: a cute father or image of child and father (boy and girl option)!

*Suggestion reading level: For 2nd grade, I would use this as a partner or independent activity. For 1st grade, I would use this as a whole group activity or read the text together before they work through the rest of the flip book.*
