    Description

Wow! You can TOTALLY do Romeo and Juliet in only 3 weeks!

This focuses on the five major scenes in Romeo and Juliet as close reads and analysis (with film). Synopsis of the missing parts are used (I always let the students vote on which film version they want to watch the "in between" parts with).

You will need access to the 1996 Leonardo Dicaprio version and the 2014 version of Romeo and Juliet.

By the end of this unit, students will have a SOLID grasp of Romeo and Juliet and you can do it in just a few weeks!!!

    This bundle includes:

    1. Romeo and Juliet Bookmarks - this has a character guide so students know which side of the feud each character is on and how they are related.
    2. Romeo and Juliet Prologue Breakdown - students breakdown the opening sonnet line by line and answer questions about what information they can glean from it.
    3. Romeo and Juliet Film comparison - This is a packet with the top 5 scenes with the original language from the text. Each scene has a table after it where students compare the two film versions for acting/directing differences, symbols, setting, etc. Synopsis of what happens between the 5 major scenes is included in the packet. Be warned, students WILL argue over which version is better. :D Answer key and film time stamps included.
    4. A final CERER paragraph where students use the packet to find evidence for whether or not Romeo and Juliet are actually in love or not-could be adjust to a full essay if you have more time. Rubric included!
    5. Romeo and Juliet One Pager where student can visually show what they understand about this story. Rubric included!
    6. Multiple choice quizzes for the 5 major scenes from Romeo and Juliet. Answer keys included!
    7. Romeo and Juliet in 30 minutes! script. Great way if you want to read straight through in a short period of time. ALSO can be used as a script if you want to put students into groups to act out the 5 major scenes plus prologue.
