What educators are saying

These worksheets worked well in helping students learn more about farm animals. As a ESL teacher I used them and students enjoyed coloring and finding out more information about these animals.

    Description

This BUNDLE contains 5 Farm Animal Theme packs I have been working on. The farm animal packs included are COW PACK, SHEEP PACK, HORSE PACK, PIG PACK and GOAT PACK. Each pack is made up of English (English Language Arts E.L.A) worksheets that cover reading, writing and language activities as well as Mathematics worksheets that cover word problems and data and graph work. In each pack I have created a colour version of the worksheets as well as a black and white version of the worksheets. Where necessary, I have created a British English version as well as an American English version of the worksheets.

In each pack I have created a variety of activities that you can choose from to use with your students. The information covered is aimed at a 2nd and 3rd Grade level and helps to build the students’ vocabulary and knowledge within this theme, as well as practicing skills in English and mathematics.

The packs are all very similar and have the following in them:

    • Poster: This can be printed out as a poster to be used in a classroom display or used as an information sheet to be given to your students. This poster is also available in my store as part of a farm animals poster pack.
    • Two information worksheets: These worksheets cover most of the information from the poster as well as some extra information. They help build vocabulary and include activities and questions related to the information.
    • Label the animal worksheet: The students need to cut out the labels and paste them in the correct space to label the farm animal. My idea for this activity is for students to label the animal and then create their own poster with the information they have learnt about the farm animal. Please note this worksheet is also part of the set, “Label the farm animals” currently available in my store.
    • Mindmap worksheet: Students use words and pictures to create a mindmap with the information they have learnt about each farm animal. There is a basic template to help the students get started. Encourage them to add any other knowledge they may have about each farm animal
    • Template for writing sentences
    • Spelling list with themed spelling words.
    • Word Search, crossword or word unscramble worksheets: Please note these worksheet are also part of a set I have on farm themed word searches crosswords and word unscramble worksheets.
    • Story and 2 pages of questions and activities based on the story. The story can also be used as prepared or unprepared reading piece. Please note that these comprehensions form part of the farm themed comprehension set I have currently in my store.
    • Parts of Speech. In each pack a different part of speech is covered. E.g. Pig Pack has worksheets on nouns.
    • Write your own story: There are four sheets to guide learners with simple planning of a story and then writing their own farm animal story. In the answers file I have included a basic writing assessment checklist for teachers to use in assessing the children’s writing.
    • Extra English Activity: In the packs I have included an extra activity. For example in the Horse pack there is an activity on writing a limerick.
    • Math Worksheets: All the packs have some Math worksheets. Worksheets include word problems and graph work.

As mentioned above I have other farm themed products in my store. Certain pages from these products are also in the animal packs.
