Fantastic Fiesta! Party Planning Project

This project is aligned with Texas Math TEKS 6.2B and/or 7.2B. It has students plan a party and in doing so they must add, subtract, multiply, and even divide decimals in order to calculate a total cost for their party. The file comes with a rubric, an item calculation sheet, a presentation rating sheet, a group evaluation sheet, and notes for the teacher with suggestions for how to pace and grade the project. This is PERFECT for project based learning and gets students to practice a lot of computation skills doing something that I have seen motivate even the most unmotivated students! =) In order to have the student "shop for items" you can have catalogues, print them off of the internet, or have the students research what they want on the internet.
