Four of the most famous speeches of President Abraham Lincoln are given, with questions for students to evaluate the mission, purpose, audience, intention, and goals of Abraham Lincoln during several important moments of his career. His words would precede his actions, and have major impact on the history of the United States of America. Speeches include two excerpts from two inauguration addresses, running for Senate, and the Emancipation Proclamation. These are wonderful primary sources and there are a couple of questions for each, an a space to evaluate the qualities of the President citing information from these speeches.

This would make a great homework assignment, assessment, series of journals, or bell work, or a DBQ.
