What educators are saying

Easy to use! Best for my students who are not able to right full sentences, because they could fill in the blanks which was more manageable.

Description

This is an 8-page emergent reader geared toward the Social Studies standards of: country, state, and community in which the class lives and understanding personal family traditions. This is a great tool to start the discussion of comparing/contrasting different traditions within the class and with other cultures around the world.

It also gives the students practice with writing.

This reader includes:

Page one: "This is me. My name is ______." Box for self portrait

Page two: "My country is called _____." U.S. map

Page three: "My state is called ______." U.S. map

Page four: "My city is called ______." U.S. map & Idaho map versions of this page

Page five: "My family has ________." box for drawing family after listing the members

Page six: "One tradition we celebrate is __________." box for drawing

Page seven: "When we celebrate, we _______." box for drawing

Page eight: "My favorite part is _______." box for drawing picture

**Please note that there are TWO VERSIONS of page 4. I have included one that has the outline of Idaho (for Idaho students), and one that has a U.S. map with state boundaries (for use by teachers in other states).
