These Color-by-Note/Musical Symbol sheets are great to have on hand for a variety of reasons! I use them as assessments, early finisher activities, sub plans, and more.
There are three types of Color By Note/Symbol sheets included:
3 Color by Rhythmic Value
- Corn picture: eighth notes, quarter notes, quarter rest
- Flower picture: eighth notes, quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, quarter rest
- Apple picture: sixteenth notes, eighth notes, quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, quarter rest, half rest
*Additionally, all of these sheets have a version with Kodaly syllables in the key and one with standard note names in the key.
3 Color by Treble Clef Note Names
- Corn picture: Space notes (FACE)
- Pumpkin picture: Line notes (EGBDF)
- Scarecrow picture: All notes (ABCDEFG)
*Additionally, two of these sheets have a version with letter names in the key and a version with line/space numbers in the key.
3 Color by Musical Symbol
- Crow picture: Dynamics (pianissimo through fortissimo, forte piano)
- Pumpkin picture: Sharp, flat, natural, treble clef, bass clef, breath mark
- Squirrel picture: Repeat sign, staff, time signature, bracket, crescendo, decrescendo
There are also reference sheets with Note and Rest Value names, Treble Clef Notes names, Dynamics, and Musical Symbol names if you want to copy those on the back of any of the sheets for students to use as a guide.
These were created with the goal to make something every grade level (K-5) could use--there is something for everyone!
