Description

The purpose of this activity is to help students identify and understand the causes and effects of the Fall of the Roman empire.
Students will participate in a play in which the Roman emperor continually taxes his people into poverty and then enslaves those unable to pay. Students will understand how the Emperor’s financial policies led to the Middle Ages and the conditions of serfdom for many poor people of the empire. Students will also understand the reasons barbarians attacked Rome, leading to more problems in the Empire. Simply use a projector for the play and print out the props for cutting if you don't have any. The exit slip can also be projected. Thanks for looking and happy history.
