Faigh an Focal. Vocabulary and Revision Game

This fun language game can be used to teach and revise common vocabulary from a mix of themes as Gaeilge. The pack allows for groups, individual or pairs to play. This also includes corresponding assessment pages sp the children can track and reflect on their own learning.

• 5 x picture boards.
• Each picture board has 30 items.
• 30 x word card sheets to correspond with the picture board (I’d suggest mounting/printing them on the card colour to match their board).
• 5 x Self assessment tick sheet (one for each board ).The children can use this to keep note of words they know, they can also highlight the ones they don’t! Easy way to identify target words.
• Word lists are great for a reference to support writing and cómhra too!

Suits: Groups. Pairs. Stations

• Children can play in pairs or larger groups. Each child/pair will need a coloured marker.
• Each person takes a card and if they can read the word in Irish and identify it, then circle their picture on the board. (Extension: You can give the children the cards that match their board OR mix them up and add to the challenge!)
• At the end, whoever has the most words circled wins.
• This is a great revision activity and the language used mirrors language in the curriculum (and my various TPT packs!).
