Introduce your students to fact-based opinion writing and practice citing evidence with this fun Halloween opinion writing activity! Students will read two short articles and determine if it is better to pass out candy or go trick-or-treating on Halloween.

Writing differentiation options are included for students who may need more scaffolding. You can also use more supports at the beginning of the year and release them to the more independent options over the course of the year.
