Description
This is a unit which will support the new Curriculum in Computing and Computer Science.
This is a unit of work which will take students from no prior programming knowledge up to a reasonable standard of programming ability.
If there is sufficient demand and feedback, I will create a second unit of work which will move onto more advanced concepts in programming
Python is an excellent free programming resource which is industry standard. It can also be used to make games and its abilities are very broad.
This unit of work encompasses roughly 20 lessons.
It includes completed files for all of the student tasks, as well as advanced and challenge tasks to occupy advanced learners
The Zip Folder contains
Activity Outline in Powerpoint describing the skills learned in the particular activity
Pupil Folder - some of the lessons give the pupil a partially complete file to aid their understanding
Completed Folder - to support staff who themselves are looking to learn
PDF file - this file contains the "how to" and "what to do" with screen shots of code, instructions, challenges and extension activities
This resource has now been deployed successfully in my local area amongst colleagues to train them in the use of Python.
