FTS Independent History Unit - Historical Background for Students

Forging the Sword Independent History Unit is based on the Forging the Sword curriculum. It is designed to be used as an independent-study unit for 4th-8th grade students, requiring minimal adult assistance. Components of the unit include a text book (Historical Background for Students), a Student Workbook, fun supplementary activity sheets (Puzzle Sheets), and an evaluation pack (Tests, Quizzes, & Teaching Ideas). [Please note that all the materials in the Independent Unit are also included, in some form, in the Forging the Sword printed curriculum sold as a Hard Sale product, but without all the group instruction sections.]

Historical Background for Students serves as the textbook of the unit. Students use it to find the answers to questions in the Student Worksheet.
