Description

This FREE lesson is designed to be a starting off point for your place value unit. It starts with numbers kids feel comfortable with (no bigger than the thousands place) and then prepares them for upcoming topics such as word form, expanded form, and rounding.

Example Questions:
1) What is the value of 6 in 7,682?
2) How is six hundred ninety-five written in standard form?
3) Think of a 4-digit number with an 8 in the hundreds place.

The lesson includes:
-Teacher-Lead Problem Set
-Partner Practice
-Independent Practice
-Exit Quiz
-Answer Keys

This lesson was written for Fifth grade at the very beginning, but my students come in below grade level. It would be best for Second or Third grade or a review lesson for Fourth or Fifth.
