Description

These hands-on, two player math activities are aligned with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade Common Core standards. Students use the number cards and game boards to create and solve math word problems in whole or small group activities, or in your math centers or workstations. Solving word problems can be really challenging, but this game makes it fun for students!

The cards were created as part of the following products:

1st Grade Operations & Algebraic Thinking: 11 Math Partner Games for Common Core

2nd Grade Operations & Algebraic Thinking: 11 Math Partner Games for Common Core

3rd Grade Operations & Algebraic Thinking: 11 Partner Games for Common Core

4th Grade Operations & Algebraic Thinking: 7 Math Partner Games for Common Core

5th Grade Operations & Algebraic Thinking: 6 Math Partner Games for Common Core

The games above are $1 (or less) each and are sold as a bundle for the domain so you get everything you need to teach all the CCSS standards for 1st-5th grade operations and algebraic thinking, including multiple games for the major standards so students can explore the concepts in different ways.

With your game purchase, you'll receive:

* 20 pages of info and forms that contain everything you need to get started with math partner games. There are blank partner game lists, tips (with photos!) for how to create/ store/ organize/ distribute/ collect the games, and lots of ideas for how the games can be used for skill-based mini lessons and math journal reflections.

* 6-11 pages (depending on the grade level) of game instructions (depending on the grade level): there’s one page for each game, featuring the materials needed, directions for game play, a Challenge activity, Math Talk questions/prompts, the CCSS alignment, and student-friendly “I Can” statements.

* 25-40 pages (depending on the grade level) of old-fashioned sweets game boards and mats, game cards, spinners, and other colorful and fun materials for game play. Most of the materials are open-ended and can be used in lots of different ways so you have fewer items to print and create. The only additional items you may need to provide are page protector sheets, Vis-à-vis or dry erase markers, and/or paperclips to make spinners (depending on the grade level.)

I'm in the process of creating Common Core aligned math partner games for all CCSS domains in grades 1-5 (fractions and geometry are already available in my store.) If you'd like to receive an email from TpT when I've added a new grade level or skill/concept to the math partner games product series, click "Follow" at the top of my store page.

Be sure to check out my website where there are hundreds of pages of classroom management resources that make teaching more effective, efficient, and enjoyable! You'll find photos, activities, printable forms/posters, and more.

Enjoy!
