Textured Heart Art Projects for Valentine's Day
There are three parts to this Valentine's Day art lesson.
The first part of the lesson is how to make the textured pink paper. I teach my students about Eric Carle and we make “Eric Carle-style” textured paper. I will explain exactly how to make this paper--it’s a lot of fun!
Part two of this unit includes a video of how to make this paper. In case the photographs aren’t clear enough, I have made a video to explain it further. Also, my hope is that the video will help you when you teach this lesson so your students can watch the video and you won’t have to try and teach how to do this technique. In other words, let me do the teaching for you!
The third part of this lesson is using the Eric Carle-style textured pink paper to make puzzle hearts. The great part about this lesson is there is close to a 100% success rate for students. That, to me, is a great percentage for Valentine's Day! We want everyone to feel good about their art, especially this time of year. Students are always so creative with this project.
