Description
Help students reflect on Science vocabulary with this culminating activity at the end of the year.
Students sign-up for a letter (I don't allow duplicates if possible) then find a vocabulary word (could be any Science word or from this year’s topics) with the same letter.
Students define the word and illustrate it on a white piece of construction paper or use the templates included in the download. (In the examples we used a tile size - 5x5, but you can use any size you like.)
Use their examples for your word wall next year!
This activity is fast and easy with very little setup or cleanup.
1. Draw the outline on the board (or use the templates)
2. Write the alphabet on the board so students can sign up for a letter
3. Hand out construction paper (or the templates)
4. Have colored pencils/crayons/markers available
5. Allow students to use their textbooks, notebooks or other resources
The entire activity takes about 30 minutes for 1 word per student.
**You can offer incentives for hard-to-find letters.
