Description

Meet your students' needs for nonrigid motion transformations practice with this FREE worksheet that includes 8 coordinate plane dilation problems with varied levels of difficulty.

Students follow directions to dilate the given pre-image to create its image in the coordinate plane. Students will also list the coordinates of the image after they have completed the dilation. This worksheet includes 4 enlargements (scale factors greater than 1) and 4 reductions (scale factors less than 1).

DILATIONS:

  • About the origin --- Beginner
  • About a vertex of the figure --- Advanced

  • Whole number scale factors --- Beginner
  • Fractional scale factors (greater than 1 and less than 1) --- Advanced

An Answer Key is included to help you and/or your students easily check their work and answers. Print the answer key in color to make the plotted images easily stand out.
