Eyebrow Expressions of American Sign Language – Further Practice
Description
In ASL, facial expressions are an important part of communication. Users of American Sign Language are likely to apply a lot of expressions to clarify and extend the meaning of their signs. If you are asking a question and whether that question is rhetorical, seeking further information, or if it should be answered with a simple yes or no response, depends on the expression choice. The hands, face and eye movement all play an important role in communicating properly.
This lesson will take you through several phrases. With each phrase, students will determine if the eyebrows are raised, lowered or neutral, along with a head shake or nod.
As a bonus exercise, students can practice interpreting the phrases into ASL (answer key provided).
