Expository Practice Passage NonFiction Text PUFFINS SMARTBOARD

This interactive SMARTboard lesson provides a nonfiction passage for your expository unit on puffins and 14 slides with questions about the nonfiction text. It also includes a printable version of the passage so your students can have a hard copy in front of them while working their way through the questions. 16 questions about the selection include: main idea, author's purpose, author's point of view, fact and opinion, context clues, and more. All questions are self checking so this lesson may be used as whole class, small group, or independent practice in a station or computer lab that has Smart Software. The story is entertaining and high interest and question require critical thinking to answer. Created for grades 4-6, but could be used with 3rd grade depending on the level of the class. Great for state assessment test preparation.
