Exploring the Hundreds Chart

This pack was created to help students practice identifying numbers and patterns on the hundreds chart. The hundreds chart is an amazing tool that has so many applications in elementary math!

This pack includes independent activities, whole group activities, and simple games for the interactive notebook.

This pack includes these independent activities:
• 7 Magical Hundreds Charts- Students practice filling in the missing numbers on the hundreds chart.
• Chicken and the Egg- Students practice finding numbers before and after a given number to 20.
• Missing in the Haystack- Students practice finding numbers before and after a given number to 100.
• The Case of the Missing Numbers- Students identify missing numbers on parts of the hundreds chart.
• Packing Up the hundreds Chart- Students practice finding 1 more and 10 more on pieces of the hundreds chart.
• Colorful hundreds Chart- Students practice finding 1 more, 10 more, 1 less, and 10 less on pieces of the hundreds chart.
• hundreds Chart at School- Students work with mixed practice finding 1 more, 10 more, 1 less, and 10 less on pieces of the hundreds chart.
• Building the hundreds Chart- Students practice building the hundreds chart by seeing simple patterns.
• Piecing Together the Hundreds Chart- Students practice building the hundreds chart by putting together hundreds chart puzzles.
• Hundreds Chart Riddle- Students practice find 10 more, 10 less, 1 more, 1 less on a hundreds chart by solving riddles to create a hidden picture.

This pack includes these whole group activities:
• Hundreds Chart Puzzle pieces- Students practice finding missing numbers on pieces of the hundreds chart with a whole class scavenger hunt or Scoot game.
• My Magic Number- Students practice finding the “magic” end number by using arrow math.

This pack includes these interactive notebook games:
• Spinning One More and One Less- Students use a paperclip spinner. They spin +1 or -1 and try to reach 100 on the hundreds chart.
• One More, One Less Race- Students flip a penny to move +1 or -1 and try to reach 100 on the hundreds chart.
• One Little Arrow Race- The students use a penny to move +1 or -1 in the form of arrows. The goal is to reach 100.
• Ten More, Ten Less Race- The students flip a penny to move +10 or -10 and skip count by 10.
• Arrow Race of Tens- The students flip a penny to move +10 or -10 in the form of arrows and skip count by 10.
• Hundreds Chart Race-Students use a paperclip spinner. They spin +1, +10, -10 or -1 and try to reach 100 on the hundreds chart.
• Arrow Race-Students use a paperclip spinner. They spin +1, +10, -10 or -1 in the form of arrows and try to reach 100 on the hundreds chart.
• Run Around the Board- Students mentally add or subtract 1 to a number to reach the end of the board game.
• A Little More, A Little Less- Students mentally add or subtract 1 or 10 to a number to reach the end of the board game.
