This activity will give your students plenty of time management practice! These executive functioning task cards focus on realistic scenarios for your students to practice and apply their ability to estimate time appropriately.
Improving time estimation skills is a vital executive functioning skill. They can help students lower their school and home stress, work more efficiently, plan appropriately for future tasks/events and focus. Time management is required for young and older students alike, and will become increasingly important as children become older and their responsibilities increase.
**Appropriate for all ages. The scenarios in these cards are not age specific. They will not make older students feel like they're doing "young work", yet they are still familiar situations for younger students, too.
This activity can be used for therapy sessions, social skills online groups, teachers, special education teachers and home-schooling parents.
This resource will help students work through the ability to put themselves in a situation, identify (and justify) an appropriate response, and learn to draw upon their own past experiences to apply them to future situations.

These Boom Learning cards will work well for at-home learning for either therapy or to be sent home for home practice.
Boom Cards for social skills are no print digital task cards that are interactive. They can be used the following ways:
- Bring the cards up on your iPad or laptop and hand it over!
- Read task cards aloud over zoom or Skype therapy sessions similarly to how task cards would have been used in therapy/at school.
- You can give remote control to your students so they can press the answers themselves!
- If you are creating home practice programs, provide a URL link to the boom learning cards - use the Boom Website for more information on sharing your decks with students.
Please note: the scenarios in these BOOM cards are the same as the ones in my Time Estimating Task Cards! These are in Boom Card format with the addition of multiple choice answers and answer fields for students to type in and are therefore an interactive version! These cards have open ended answers, so they are not self grading. You will need to read their answers to see how they have went.
Please consider the following before you purchase:
- You must have a boom account in order to download the boom cards. There are free account options available!
- You must be online to use cards.
- You can use Boom learning via Zoom and screen share/remote control!
- If you want your students to use these cards by themselves, they will need a Boom account. A boom learning app on their device will be helpful, too.
