Description

There are many misconceptions that students are bombarded with throughout their lives concerning evolution. I’ve designed this lesson to deal with some of the basic concepts in evidence supporting the Theory of Evolution. Concepts include:

- Homologous Structures (Homologies)

- Vestigial Structures

- Analogous Structures as a misconception

The lesson uses Dr. Neil Shubin's discovery of Tiktaalik as a setting for examining close common ancestors and their homologies.

This lesson is intended for a basic high school biology course. Notes to enhance each slide’s content can be found below the slide. An assessment of understanding lab is included at the end. Hope you find it interesting and educational. Feel free to contact me through my store if you have any questions!
