Description
This Smartboard presentation explores religious symbolism. I used it while teaching Representation of the Divine in Ethics and Religious Culture to Secondary 2 students.
Presentation includes lecture points and group activities.
Class will explore the difference between an icon and a symbol
Identify common religious symbols and their origins.
Students will look at secret societies.
Group Assignment: Students will decorate a Christmas Tree / Chanukah Bush/ Non denominational Shrub with 10 icons and 10 symbols. Students will need to draw them and identify what they are in writing. Please see preview file for example.
