What educators are saying
I have tried a LOT of writing curricula over the years and never found something that fit us super well. I absolutely LOVE this resource and it is working SO well for my 13 and 15 year old sons! It's very structure, methodical, and simple to use. GREAT resource!
Description
Essay Writing for Home School - Complete Curriculum
This 182-page guide is for college-bound secondary home school students. I have adapted my popular essay writing units into one coherent, self-directed home school curriculum.
The curriculum contains step-by-step instructions for writing Narrative, Compare/Contrast, Summary/Response, Research, and Argumentative Essays. There are also sections on MLA formatting, research, avoiding plagiarism, academic sources, and writing prompts. Each section builds on the last, and builds student confidence and success.
These are the essential writing skills that students need to be successful in first-year composition in college. As an instructor of first-year college composition for many years at several institutions, I know what students need to succeed.
Below are links to the units that have been adapted for a home school audience. You can get a better idea beyond the preview what is contained in the curriculum by looking at the descriptions and previews for these products, knowing that they are adapted here especially for home school:
