Description
This activity allows students to explore the profession of Epidemiology by tracking injury rates of injuries that occur in the National Football League “NFL.” Epidemiology is essential to Sports Medicine and other healthcare professions to understand injury trends in specific sports so that prevention and treatment methods can be updated along with these trends. This activity can be a stand-alone activity in which you as the teacher solely tracks the injuries and updates the students on the injury rate each week by posting it on the wall in your classroom or it can be used as a final project for students to update throughout the semester/school year.
This file includes:
1. Project guidelines
2. Epidemiology Injury Tracking Sheets
3. End of season questions and Epidemiology reflection questions for students
4. Rubric for student-based project & reflection questions
This product pairs well with another product of mine, Introduction to Epidemiology in Sports Medicine, which is a 11-slide presentation that can be used teach students about Epidemiology and injury tracking before implementing this project/activity. It is sold separately, or check out the bundle!
