Description

This content-rich and fun activity is student-centered and interactive! This key enlightenment figure stations activity has 9 stations with close readings analyzing key aspects of the Enlightenment Era. The stations also have a Google Ready Online Interactive version for distance learning. Students fill in text boxes already created! Each reading is divided into the Enlightenment thinker's ideas and their influence on the US Constitution.

The key concepts and people covered are:

  • John Locke
  • Cesar Beccaria
  • Mary Wollstonecraft
  • Salons
  • Rousseau
  • Thomas Hobbes
  • Voltaire
  • Montesquieu
  • The rights of the accused and natural right

This activity comes with over 35 pages and many options for student-driven instruction!!! Readings come with pictures, charts, and maps. For a FUN twist, students also create a drawn bust of an enlightenment figure of his/her choice. The bust must have three symbolic tattoos showing their understanding of the enlightenment figures' contributions!

Questions and interactive mini-activities are on a separate worksheet for teacher choice. This activity also comes with a fun foldable graphic organizer activity that is interactive and fun. Students summarize the reading with a #hashtag summary, identify the main idea with supporting facts, and draw pictures! Teacher instructions are included with 5 different activity ideas with the same Common Core readings.

The stations also come with a Google Ready Online Interactive version. Students fill in text boxes already created!
