Description

This video guide is for The History Channel's popular Rome: Engineering an Empire documentary video (individual episodes are available on YouTube, or DVDs can be purchased from the History Channel). The guide is divided into separate sections for the 8 major segments of the video, each covering a major Roman leader and their contributions to Ancient Rome. Each segment of the video last approximately 10 to 12 minutes and each section of the video guide includes narrative questions with a fill in the blank format intended to keep the students engaged throughout the video. There are a total of 54 narrative questions that covers the nearly two hour video. Included is a teacher guide with the answers and time codes for starting and stopping the video. The guide can be used as an introduction to Ancient Rome or can be effectively integrated throughout the unit as needed.
