Description

What does an ecosystem include, what is an aquatic biome and a terrestrial biome, and how do human activities affect ecosystems? While the standards closely align with 5th Grade NGSS standards, if you teach about ecosystems and organisms in general, this may be perfect for you! Here, your students will learn more by answering the following Big Questions:

  1. What Is An Ecosystem and the Organisms Within?
  2. Where Do Plants Get the Material They Need For Growth?
  3. How Do Matter and Energy Flow In An Ecosystem?
  4. How Do We Know If An Ecosystem is Healthy or Unhealthy?
  5. How Do Humans Change Ecosystems?

This product is also included in a FULL YEAR LONG BUNDLE marked down 30% off with TWENTY total lessons and over 4,000 pages included.

Click here for the FREE Energy and Matter Within an Ecosystem Unit Assessment.

Included in this bundle:

  • 43-day lesson plan outline (with a digital notebook and assessment links included for use in Google Classroom, etc.)
  • Full guided student notes with reading passages included for the flow of energy and matter in an ecosystem, the organisms within, what makes an ecosystem healthy and unhealthy, and how humans change the ecosystem. (4 different layouts within - page numbers/lesson numbers, one or the other, or none of the above)
  • Interactive PowerPoint slideshow to assist with notes and lesson plans. A bonus "Show What You Know" set of printable questions is derived from the slideshow.
  • Editable PowerPoint Slides (3 templates to match the interactive slides if you need to make your own slides/update for each lesson)
  • Six investigations for a hands-on and presentation experience with gallery walk forms, editable group presentation slides, record sheets, and two flipper activities.
  • Supporting study guides.
  • 10 question assessments.
  • Outlined Scope and Sequence for each lesson.
  • START HERE guide with additional tips to support using the material for each lesson.

Look for the START HERE guide first when opening each zipped file. There is a separate file with the digital links if you prefer to have students follow along using a digital notebook (Google Slides). Additionally, you can assign your students a digital partially self-grading assessment (Google Forms), as well as the same with a digital partially self-grading study guide. You will need to make a copy and save it in Google Drive, and you can assign it using Google Classroom (perfect for students who may be absent).
