Description

This end of the year in review activity will provide a high-interest, engaging mini-project for your secondary students! Students will use the free Adobe Express website to create unique "My Year in Review" pages. This resource includes modern, relevant topics for them to select for their pages. The topics are designed to promote a positive growth mindset and to keep students actively engaged until the last week of the school year!

An editable attractive Google Slides presentation outlines all project requirements and concludes with a checklist that aligns with the grading rubric. All of the work has been done for you! Self-directed learning will be fostered with your students through the specific directions and motivating project examples!

The final project provides differentiation through student choice! Students are able to select their own topics. Your students will assume more ownership when they choose topics that interest them the most. Twenty-one modern, relevant topics are featured in the project slides presentation. Some of the sample topics include -

Write About a Time When You Misjudged Someone

My Game Plan (Future Goals)

The Struggle Is Real! (Overcoming Obstacles and Set Backs)

I Couldn’t Stop Laughing…

Students will create either a presentation using Google Slides/Power Point or create an Adobe Express Page using their free website! Their digital storytelling includes selecting 8 of the 21 topics, using real-life photos to tell their stories, audio, and representative images.

The free Adobe Express website is user-friendly and fun! A screenshot tutorial handout and a how-to video link will show your students how to easily create an Adobe Express page.

Students will also be more motivated after viewing two sample projects featuring high school students! A sample My Year in Review presentation using Google Slides features a high school male. Students can also view a sample Adobe Express Page created by a high school female.

Along with being provided with 21 writing topics and the ability to view two project examples to serve as a model, students will also learn how to use the Explore tool to customize slide layouts in Google Slides.

Students who choose to create an Adobe Express page will be provided with a how-to on creating a panoramic scrolling glide-show of photos and images.

Grading rubrics are included for both the Google Slides presentation option and the Adobe Express Page!

This project is compatible with any device using Google Chrome. Materials are designed to be used with Google Drive. Instructions for downloading and printing are included for Microsoft Office or OneDrive. Please note that the option to use the Explore tool is not available unless the student uses Google Slides. This is only one of many project options, however!

This purchase also includes

★ A downloadable pdf teacher’s guide;

★ Google Drive share links that will prompt you to make a copy of all materials into your own Google Drive;
