Description

Add some sunshine to your end of the year syllable division instruction with this summer themed Google Slides™️ deck for reading multisyllabic words with all syllable types using Orton Gillingham syllable division strategies! The words include VCV, VCCV, and VCCCV syllable division patterns, a variety of phonics patterns, and all six syllable types. The strategies you'll teach are aligned with the science of reading research and are suitable for first grade, second grade, or intervention groups at upper elementary levels.

The two and three-syllable words in this digital resource include open, closed, silent e, vowel team, r-controlled, and consonant -le syllable types and are perfect for a review of syllable division and syllable types.

There are 25 words included in the slide deck, all related to the summer season.

  • Drag the moveable popsicles to mark the vowels and consonants
  • Divide the word into syllables
  • Decode each syllable & blend the syllables into the word
  • Label each syllable type with sun-shaped labels
