What educators are saying

My students loved this engaging resource that reviewed several important third grade concepts. Thank you!
I used this at the start of the year to gauge where kids were at with these skills. The kids enjoyed it and it was simple to set up.

Description

As teachers, we all love to give our students engaging activities to review skills within our classrooms. Escape rooms are extremely engaging, but also help you to see who is still struggling with what skills! Win, Win.

However, if you’re anything like me, some days you’re just #TeacherTired. Stuffing 50 envelopes to hide around the room just made me even more tired thinking about, but at the same time, I still wanted my students to get to participate in these Classroom Escape Room or Break Out Room style activities! This is why I adapted the way I do “Escape Rooms” in my class!

My escape rooms are truly LOW PREP. I used to call the Low Prep, but after much feedback from others - the name has been changed to PRINT & GO! They are truly No Prep for you, other than printing them out, and your kids will be reviewing in no time!

Also, this now includes two DIGITAL versions of the Classroom Escape challenges. One version allows students to solve each challenge on Google Slides and then use the self-checking Google Form before submitting their slides for you to see. The other version solely allows students to submit their answers via Google Forms, so you can see their answers. Either way you choose, all you have to do is download and share the link with your students!

This Digital and Print & Go Classroom Escape Room is an End of Year - Math Review. I provide my students with 45 minutes to "breakout" or "escape the classroom" by solving all of the challenges before time runs out! However, you are able to tweak the time to fit your students' needs. You can break it up over a few days or do it all in one class period.

This particular Classroom Escape covers reading standards that would fit the needs for 3rd grade classes. However, I have gotten much feedback that it also works for 4 and 5th graders as a spiral review.

Skills this Classroom Escape Room includes:

- Multiplication

- Division

- Comparing Fractions

- Equivalent Fractions

- Area

- Perimeter

- Elapsed Time

- Pictographs (integrates addition and subtraction)

There's not an easier or more engaging way to get your students ready for end of year state testing/ STAAR testing/ or whatever state tests you take without the kill and drill of practice tests and worksheets! It also helps to encourage collaboration and higher order thinking. In my opinion, it's the best test prep because kids love it, it's effective in reviewing the standards, and it's seriously low prep for the teacher.

Teacher reviews:

"This is the first escape game that I did with my class. The kiddos loved it so much that I also purchased the Reading and Language Review. After playing all three, my fourth graders continued asking me every day if we could do another escape game. I plan to purchase more from Mallory Cameron and incorporate escape games throughout the year! These escape games are by far my favorite purchase from TPT. Thank you for perfect resources!"

"My third graders loved this escape room! The small amount of prepping almost made me feel guilty- they were so engaged and had such a blast with very little work on my end! :)"

"This was one of the best resources I've purchased! This was a life-saver at the end of the school year when the students no longer had their technology. This kept them engaged and they had a blast. Thank you!"

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
Recognize area as an attribute of plane figures and understand concepts of area measurement.
A square with side length 1 unit, called “a unit square,” is said to have “one square unit” of area, and can be used to measure area.
Measure areas by counting unit squares (square cm, square m, square in, square ft, and improvised units).
