Description

A challenging, fun ELA review for end of year or summer school! Sure to keep students' minds engaged! Great classroom management extension activities for those who finish work early. This brain games and puzzles resource for Grades 4-8 includes 10 challenging brain games or puzzles to review English/language arts content. The games or puzzles facilitate critical thinking skills as well as reinforce all of the following skills: spelling, simile, metaphor, personification, theme, idioms, irony, mood, tone, novel, symbolism, verbs, nouns, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, interjections, prepositions, conjunctions, anagrams, setting, plot, protagonist, climax, resolution, transitions, and compound words. An answer key is provided for all 10 brain games or puzzles. If you are looking for no prep, have students complete the brain games or puzzles as you project them. The slides can be printed and used in a small-group literacy center or printed and used in a whole-group setting. Students can complete each puzzle or game with a partner. Students will enjoy this resource as they review content.
