Use this end of year countdown activity to keep your students motivated and engaged as you prepare for summer break. Your class will work together to earn 12 exciting rewards during the end of the year.
Start by making the countdown to summer punch board. Each cup has a fun reward for the whole class to enjoy! There are three sets of rewards to choose from:
Reward option 1- Ice Cream Sundae Party
- Each cup contains items for students to earn for a class ice cream sundae party. They will earn their bowl, spoon, ice cream flavors, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, as well as a variety of toppings! The more cups they have opened, the MORE ice cream toppings they will be able to choose from.
Reward option 2- Variety of Fun Activities
- Each cup contains a fun end of the year activity that is easy and affordable for you! The rewards include sidewalk chalk, extra recess, popsicles, popcorn party, stuffed animal day, bubble party, movie, lunch in the classroom, free choice time, lunch outside, sunglasses day, and root beer floats!
Reward option 3- Editable- You choose the rewards!
- An editable version of the slips is included for you to change any (or all) of the rewards to fit your own ideas!
How it Works:
- Students receive a coloring page that matches one of the cups.
- You reward your class with "coloring clues" throughout the day for positive behaviors you want to reinforce.
- When they have the entire picture colored, they get to open the cup and see their reward.
- Celebrate the reward.
- Start again with a new cup and coloring sheet.
You receive:
- Detailed direction sheets
- Reward slips- editable
- Punchboard graphics
- Countdown to Summer Header in 2 color options
- 12 Student coloring pages- 2 versions (small & large)
- Coloring sheet with all 12 pictures on one page
- Coloring direction slips for each coloring page.
Some of the items needed for this project, you will need to supply. You will need plastic cups, tissue paper, rubber bands, a piece of foam board, hot glue and glue stick. I was able to find everything I needed for a few dollars at a local dollar store.
