What educators are saying

This was a very helpful resource. I used it to guide my instruction in helping a student with some really big feel feelings and emotions.
I am a Skills Trainer at an Elementary School and teach students SEL skills such as Emotional Regulation, Anger Management, Social Skills, ect. I have used this activity several times with students and it worked great.

Description

This no-cut flipbook is a concrete way to help students make a plan for emotional regulation! It can be used as an individual counseling activity or group counseling tool over the course of two to three sessions for anger management or dealing with worries. This flipbook builds a student's capacity for using coping skills when they're angry, worried, or sad. Think of it like a worrying workbook or anger management workbook but shorter and more fun!

It covers:

  • Comfortable vs. uncomfortable feelings and feelings validation
  • Emotional triggers
  • Physical sensations of emotions
  • Breathing and relaxation exercises
  • Negative vs. positive self-talk
  • Reasons for making the feelings plan (gaining student investment to apply the plan!)

This is a ready-to-print PDF with printing and folding directions. Print, fold, staple, and you're done!

This resource now includes an interactive Google Slides (TM) version. The content is the same, but has students using drag and drop and text boxes for their responses.

Resource Rationale:

Emotional regulation can be a challenging skill for many students. Creating a plan empowers students to take control of their feelings through their own identified strategies.
