Elections and Voting for Primary Grades

Description
I always struggle to find appropriate election materials to use with Primary students, so decided to compile some ideas here.
There are a couple of simple books on “Who Can Be President?” and “What Does the President Do?” from lots of harder-to-read sources. Additional sources are given within. Then, there is an inspired realistic passage to read and discuss on the topic: “What It’s Like to Be President.” Also, included are 3 graphic organizers on the President and the major party candidates. To round out the week there are: simple Voter Registration Forms, Ballots for the 2020 Presidential Election, a blank Ballot, voting badges, and a simple-to-assemble Voting Box along with a tallying page to ascertain how your class votes.
This resource is intended to be used for those days just before, the day of, and reflecting the day after our National Elections; so, students gain a better understanding of the election process and the major roles of the President.
NOTE: Parts of this unit (the 2 booklets) are duplicated in My President's Day Unit. Parts have been updated for the 2020 Presidential Election. The two booklets now have a teacher-sized copy for easier use.
