Election Day QR Codes

BONUS - total of 20 different Election Day themed QR codes!!! By scanning these QR codes, your students will view 20 different read aloud stories, songs, and videos to enhance your Election Day theme.

I've also included a link to a website - pbskids.org - which has a page filled with stories and activities to support learning about Election Day. Although I've checked out the site completely and feel that it is safe for my students, you may want to check it also if your district has strict policies about student website use.

This is a great center (or something for your students to do when they finish early or as a reward!)! If you are lucky enough to have access to technology devices (ipods, ipads, tablets, etc.), then this center is for your students! You will need to download a FREE QR Scanner App.

I was careful to make all of the links in this file 'kid safe.' The videos are derived from YouTube, but are funneled through the SafeYouTube site to ensure that students are not watching or seeing things they shouldn't be seeing. When the QR Code is scanned, the resource pops up and the student pushes play.

Print the main sheet and/or iPads with individual QR codes (I've just been printing the page with all of the QR codes on our copier at school since I end up updating before each theme - sometimes YouTube takes down videos causing broken links I have to replace - to save money on printing costs). This is a lot less expensive than buying each individual book and CD's for your listening center! It also provides a variety of videos for your students to enjoy as they learn about Election Day.

When I create files, I use a variety of videos from YouTube. However, more often than we would like, videos are removed from YouTube causing "broken" links in my files. If you happen to find a "broken" link in this or any of my products, please leave a comment for me so I replace the "broken" link, update and upload the file, and you can reprint for continued use.
