Description

In this Election Day class and student simulation, students learn how to run a presidential campaign, keep track of a budget and campaign expenses, target and win the vote of certain populations, and make campaign decisions to guide their philosophy! The simulation contains six distinct steps that guide students through the campaign and election process.

This election simulation begins with students completing a questionnaire to figure out what matters to them and what candidate they will be in the election. Then, students learn about two key election concepts: constituents and voter turnout. In Step 3, students compile and create a campaign schedule based on a variety of events to win votes among their students. This step is incredibly in-depth and really places students in the shoes of a candidate running for president! The simulation continues to have students integrate math and data to make informed decisions, reflect upon the decisions they made, and create a final persuasive campaign speech!

This election simulation is guaranteed to excite your students and is a great activity to place your students in the shoes of a candidate during the election year! Seamlessly integrate math, persuasive writing, and complex thinking skills!
