COURT CASE SUMMARY DEBATES present complex court cases to students to understand how legal decisions impact their lives. Teaching controversial topics can be very intimidating, even for experienced teachers. Nevertheless, students gravitate towards these hot topic issues because they are relevant to life outside the classroom. As teachers, we must approach these topics objectively and provide just the facts to help students comprehend and think critically about the world around them.
These CCSDs are perfect for teaching Informational Writing and Argumentative Passages
THESE ARE ALL SUBSTITUTE READY!!!

Feedback on my COURT CASE SUMMARY DEBATES:
This has been a fabulous bell ringer activity for my sophomores. I use every Thursday for Think About It Thursday. THANKS!
I used it with my seventh graders and the debate and discussion from this reading and questions was thoroughly interesting and eye opening to the thoughts and opinions of my students.
I teach an intervention class for freshman and they loved this little lesson! Very engaging.
Sub lesson that the sub and kids thoroughly enjoyed. It has inspired me to create more of my own. Thank you for this little gem.
Thank you! This created quite an engaging discussion in my Street Law class!
This is amazing! There are so many ways to use this one-page lesson - from a one-day class discussion to creating mini-lessons or units with this topic as a guide, the possibilities really are endless. I'm so glad I made this purchase, and I highly recommend it to others. Thank you so much! :-)
My students loved how this challenged their thinking and opened their eyes to how their world is and was... loved it!!
I am looking forward to using this thought-provoking resource. Thank you!
My co-teacher and I teach a full inclusive class of seniors, and we wanted some active lessons that could also be done via google classroom (if we had a quarantined kid, etc.) that made them think and were engaging. We knew they'd get a kick out of this lesson, but we were not prepared for them to become obsessed with it lol!
