What educators are saying

I used the information to help support students with a research project. The information provided was easy to read and comprehend for my sixth graders.

Description

Engage your students in this informative set of close readings and election campaign project! Teachers have used this product to inform students through meaningful close-readings of 4 influential Egyptian Pharaohs, and includes a cornell-style note page to follow along. The readings can be used for students to read individually, in small groups, stations, or as a whole class (perfect for differentiating!). Notes are then used to reflect on which leader they think ruled the most effectively, and encourages them to think critically and brainstorm what makes a good ruler, and include evidence to support their statement. Students then create a campaign poster for the effective leader of their choosing that showcases their supporting evidence and can be presented to the class. (Rubric for project and presentation included!)

This product includes:

** Tips for Teacher Use

** Station Direction Cards

** Close Reads on Queen Hatshepsut, Ramesses II, King Tutankamen, Cleopatra.

(Each reading describes the leader's rise to power, leadership style, and accomplishments.)

** Cornell Note Page the includes the subtopics for each ruler's reading

** Cornell Note Page answer key

** Post-Note Reflection

** Electing a Pharaoh project direction page

** Electing a Pharaoh project rubric (for both project and presentation)

I hope you enjoy these readings and project as much as me and my students have. If you have any questions about use or suggestions, please feel free to contact me!

Thank you!
