Description

This is an exciting, informative, animated PowerPoint which is one section of an epic 8-part series about the Industrial Age (1750-1914).

This particular PowerPoint (which is called 5.2) is the second in the series and deals with some of the effects and often negative consequences of rapid industrialization, such as: overcrowding, child labor, poor working conditions. The rise of capitalism (as well as the challenge from socialism and communism) is also presented. This PowerPoint (74 slides) is filled with provocative pictures, explanations, animations and great questions for discussion. Interesting diagrams help explain the differences between capitalism and communism which often confuse students.
