Description
This editable set of proficiency based assessments is perfect for a Spanish 1 class in middle or high school. There is one assessment for each of the 3 modes of communication: interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational (plus a second option for interpretive!) Students will review their school schedule, school supplies, the verb tener, and more!
Your resource will download as a PDF, and you will be prompted to click a link on the first page if you'd like to access your own editable version within Google Drive.
There are FOUR editable assessments included in this resource! I personally give these assessments on separate days in class. Here is a brief description of each:
Interpretive Reading: There is a reading passage provided in Spanish, followed by 10 true/false in English, and 8 short open response questions in English. Students are directed to choose just 5 of the open response questions, and then to complete a quick drawing response activity! (If you would rather have the questions in Spanish, this document is editable so you can make that adjustment. For now, it is important to note that they are in English.)
Interpersonal Writing: (Can also be easily adjusted by teacher to be completed as an interpersonal speaking activity!) There are 8 questions provided, and students are asked to respond to 5 of them in complete sentences in Spanish.
Interpretive Listening: There is a written teacher script provided in Spanish (as well as an audio recording), followed by 10 true/false in English. Students are directed to listen to their teacher read the script (I read it twice) and respond to the true false questions as they listen. (If you would rather have the questions in Spanish, this document is editable so you can make that adjustment. For now, it is important to note that they are in English.)
Presentational Writing: An open response style writing prompt, with student support phrases and a simple rubric included.

*Yo tengo, yo necesito, etc.
