>>>DESCRIPTION<<<

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT: Creative Land is a classroom management system ideal for the elementary art room. I have used it in my art room for 12 years with great success. It will keep your students on task, attentive, and respectful. From the time they walk into the room, from the time they leave you will be in control of classroom behavior.

WHY- Creative Land is a large game board that ends in Creative Time as the reward. Creative time gives your students the opportunity to make any kind of art they want using any supplies they want for one class period. It is their chance to have complete artistic freedom in the art room.

WHAT- Creative Time is like an “art party”. It’s a fun and anticipated day in the art room. The idea of earning art supplies for Creative time will keep them motivated in the art room. I have two Creative Times a year. Once on the last day of art before winter break, and once the last day of art before summer break.

STUDENT GOAL- To get as far as possible on the game board, to earn as many supplies as possible for Creative Time. The more spaces you move per class, the farther you go. When the Creative Time day arrives that’s where you stop on the game board, so if your class only got half way, then you only get half the supplies during Creative Time. Remember you only get to use the supplies you have landed on or passed up. If you have not reached a supply space/square, you don’t get to use it during Creative Time. On the day of Creative Time, students can use the supplies they have earned to make any kind of art they want. The great part is that Creative Time is fun no matter what, but the more supplies you earn, the better it is.

YOU WILL GET- A chart to describe what signs go with what clipart, a two page detailed description of how it all works, a list of rules to read to the class so Creative Time goes smoothly, editable paint pallets for all your classes, signs for the locations on the game board (like Drawing Hills sign), clipart to go with each of the locations along with the sign, the editable game board squares to form a path, and the letters to 'creative land', all text is editable and all images are resizable.
